At the heart of the composition, a majestic tree entirely sculpted from leather rises with a tangible physical presence. Its raw, textured surface is not finished by paint, but by light itself. It is the lighting, caressing its reliefs, that brings the tree to life, transforming leather into living bark and shifting shadows.

Against this living canvas, a sharp-eyed leopard is painted with rare intensity, frozen in a posture of watchful observation. It is not alone: two malachite kingfishers, splashed with the vivid color of one, cross the space. In a poetic gesture, the bird’s pigments seem to detach and spill onto the feline, blending their brilliant hues with the leopard’s fur. This chromatic fusion captures the precise moment when light, air, and matter intertwine, erasing distinctions between tree, animal, and bird.

Between sky and forest, a young gorilla stands, frozen in his tree, yet never still. His gaze draws us in, transcending time and boundaries. Above him, a turaco takes flight, releasing a shower of vibrant colors that gently caress the young primate. To the side, a second bird paints the tree’s bark, weaving a living tapestry.
